Antenatal Classes

Encouraging mums to be to visit a GBSN group is so important – a mum who visits antenatally can get essential information and support which can really help to start her breastfeeding journey in the best way possible.

Visiting a new group can be daunting when you are tired and exhausted looking after a newborn. If someone has visited a group whilst pregnant it can certainly feel less scary when bringing their baby too!

With this in mind, I visited Brockworth Children’s Centre to speak to pregnant women attending the NHS antenatal breastfeeding session. I attended near the end of the session and spoke for about 10 minutes about what GBSN does and the support we provide (including the great bras). Whilst I was apprehensive at first speaking in front of a group of people, I soon relaxed as I realised it was what I do every week at CRIBS when speaking to new mums.

This was a fantastic way in which to reach out to antenatal women – especially those who not attending NCT classes and therefore may not be aware of the great support out there for them.
