Our Support Groups

GBSN-100-AngelsMOBS Dursley
MOBS in Dursley opened in September 2004, and operates from a central location in Dursley town centre. This location enables families from the wider rural areas to easily access our service.

MOBS Dursley is a rapidly growing group and currently helps approximately 15 families every week.

MOBS Stroud
Our Stroud group is the largest GBSN group at the moment, with over 100 mums attending in the last quarter.

The group meets at a central location in Stroud and serves families from across the wide rural Stroud Valleys area as well as the town itself.

CRIBS Churchdown, Gloucester
Our Churchdown group, CRIBS, has been running since November 2004 and serves the northern side of the city of Gloucester and its surrounds.

We welcome approximately 15-20 mums a week at CRIBS and have retained a lot of support and goodwill from local families over the years.

BAPS Hesters’ Way, Cheltenham
BAPS is one of the oldest breastfeeding support groups in Gloucestershire, opening before the charity was established in September 2002. BAPS has supported families in the deprived Hesters Way area of Cheltenham for over 8 years.

BAPS remains one of our busiest groups, with an average of 20 mums attending each week.

GLOBES Gardners Lane, Cheltenham
Globes is our youngest support group and opened in Cheltenham in May 2009. Globes operates from Gardners Lane Children’s Centre, situated in one of the most deprived areas of the town. This central location enables the group to be accessed by lower income families, those statistically recognised as least likely to breastfeed.

Globes worked with over 20 families in the last quarter and is growing steadily in popularity.

BABES Tewkesbury
Our Tewkesbury group serves a wide rural area as well as the town of Tewkesbury. The group is run from a Children’s Centre in one of the town’s lower income areas so is easily accessible to those least likely to have a successful breastfeeding relationship.

BABES first opened its doors during Breastfeeding Awareness Week in May 2004 and has seen numbers growing rapidly since its move to the Children’s Centre in 2010. BABES now attracts around 10 mums each week.

BEST Cirencester
BEST in Cirencester opened in 2006 and serves the whole of the Cotswold District from its base in central Cirencester.

The group currently supports around 10-15 families every week.
